RE: Have you ever done a "Bang Bang"?
@Thump ~~ yessir. We were there for hours. My lifelong best friend/quasi-brother doesn't like to remember that night, because he uncharacteristically flirted with our waitress (at Quaker Steak & Lube). As I mentioned in another thread, here in southwest VA he's a coal miner, and he makes pretty damn good money. He gave her a $100 tip, declared her the most beautiful woman on earth and, to try to coax her into being with him he made the argument, "I'm one of the only coal miners left in the area". He never wants to go back!Laughat I like to text him every now again and say, "Bro, you are one of the only coal miners left in the area, y'know?" He gets pretty pissed. He's typically shy and introverted. Bring alcohol into the equation and he'll talk anybody up, chase deers and spontaneously do pushups.

Anyway, unrelated to a bang bang, but it's a lot of food: I've always wanted to do the "Big Texan" challenge from Man vs. Food with somebody.

"Meal consists of: Shrimp Cocktail, Baked Potato, Salad, with Roll, Butter, and of course the 72 oz. Steak

~~ Entire meal must be completed in one hour. If any of the meal is not consumed (swallowed)…YOU LOSE!
~~ Before the time starts, you will be allowed to cut into the steak, and take one bite. If the steak tastes good and is cooked to your satisfaction, we will start the time upon your acceptable approval. The time will not stop, and the contest is on, so make SURE before you say “yes.”
~~ Once you have started you are not allowed to stand up, leave your table, or have anyone else TOUCH the meal.
~~ You will be disqualified if anyone assists you in cutting, preparing or eating of your meal. This is YOUR contest.
~~ You don’t have to eat the fat, but we will judge this.
~~ Should you become ill, the contest is over… YOU LOSE! (Please use the container provided as necessary.)
~~ You are required to pay the full amount up front; if you win we will refund 100%.
~~ You must sit at a table that we assign.
~~ If you do not win the steak challenge, you are welcome to take the leftovers with you.
~~ No consumption or sharing of the leftovers is allowed in the restaurant once the contest is over.

If you fail to complete the challenge, you must pay the full $72 dollars."

That's at the Big Texan in Amarillo, Texas. I've never been to Texas, but one of these days I'd like to check that place out.

I love food challenges -- most of all, spicy food challenges. NOT from the standpoint of being competitive. No. Just for the memories. I think life is all about making memories, at the end of the day. I just love that kind of shit.Yes

No, and I won't. Ever. [Image: puke.gif]

The largest steak I ever finished in one sitting was probably 12 oz, if that. I've drank six beers in one night, but definitely couldn't do that now. 6 oz of steak, potato or other side, house salad, and 2 beers and I'm uncomfortably stuffed and above the legal limit.
