Have you ever gone on a religious fast?
I did one in high school, around sophomore or junior year. All the people in my church were doing a 48-hour fast, so I felt pressured into going along with them. We were only supposed to drink water, but I, being the sneaky bastard that I was, stayed like 30 minutes late after school on the first day, so none of the church "friends" at my school would see me stop by the donut shop on the way home. I brushed my teeth as soon as I got home, and my parents were none the wiser. muahaha

At the end of the 48 hours, we met at the church for for a huge pot luck dinner, and the pastor talked for like two hours about Jeebus or some shit. I don't remember because I was in the hallway playing poker. Fun times.

If we came from dust, then why is there still dust?

RE: Have you ever gone on a religious fast?
Despite all my years as a Christian, I never did a fast for religious purposes. I did fast for a short time once--but that was more of a Hollywood cleanse diet type of a thing.

Me, a religious fast? Bwahahahahaha.....

No.

But lately I cannot eat well. Lost two kilos in two weeks.

I hope I am losing fat and not muscle. I think it's fat. Smile

Fasting without telling others is a form of meditation and can be quite useful.

Personally, I've always found religious slows to be the more intriguing practice.

"Owl," said Rabbit shortly, "you and I have brains. The others have fluff. If there is any thinking to be done in this Forest - and when I say thinking I mean thinking - you and I must do it."

Actually, fasting has been proved to be unhealthy.

So much for Muhammed! Smile

Didn't mean any extreme form as all extremes can be negative. Surely wasn't speaking of Mohamed.

My church actually called it a "famine," which I thought sounded a just tad bit offensive at the time.
