I don't care either way. You're not as important as you think you are, so whether you stay or leave it will make no difference to me.

If it's best that you can do then you don't have much to offer.

Take me or kick me out? Forum isn't about you. Why I should care if you stay or go? It's your decision and you aren't some kind of martyr for a cause who is forced to go on a exile by evil tribe.

RE: Hello
There have been some PMs exchanged between myself and other contributing members of this forum. It seems the consensus that most are heavily suspicious of me. I was really looking forward to the atheist community here since it is virtually non-existent where I'm from. I'm not sure what will convince a community of online skeptics that I'm not a troll or why it should mean much to them at all, but I'm trying to offer that evidence. Having said that, I'm not sure why dead horses have to be beaten when I try to move on to new topics with new questions. Seems like a non-sequitur to me. My questions about science and education are generic and don't require that you be especially cautious of who you are talking to when you provide an answer, even if I were a legitimate troll. Is it possible we can move on?

Pretty demanding tone you have sweetcheecks. You are the one who came in here and screwed up right off the bat. Maybe a less passive-aggressive style will get you somewhere with the people here.

You are either pretty ballsy or pretty socially inept if you are going to continue to make demands on this forum. You were given a second chance...a whole lot of how that turns out depends on you...and it's not going real great so far.

I also smell a rat...how does someone new even know how to make a plea to Deep?

It's possible, but it will take a while. Weeks, not days. Many posters may come around eventually, if you're not a dick (and if you don't keep threatening to leave). Try participating in other threads and letting people get to know you. Give advice or opinions as well as asking for them--that will also lead to better quality advice when you have an issue.

I don't think you're a troll, exactly, but I don't know yet if it's worth trying to give you a thoughtful answer. Still, here is mine, on math, science, and college:

If you have serious math deficits, then it's going to take time and effort to fix them. Fixing them is no guarantee that you will be good enough at math to be a scientist or to transfer from a community college into a top university. But applying your energy and time to master new skills is a worthy goal, nonetheless. If you can do it, you have a right to be proud of achieving that, and you'll probably have expanded job or education opportunities.

In your place, I would look online for things like Coursera and math sites, while working hard enough to get As at community college. I would talk to the professors at the community college who have science and math backgrounds, asking for advice and looking for local resources.

If you throw yourself at math and it doesn't seem to work even at an elementary level, ask your doctor for a referral to a learning disabilities specialist who can test you to see if you have a disability. If you turn out to have a disability, often there are methods you can learn to maximize your learning potential. It may be more work than someone without a learning disability has to go through, which I know feels daunting and unfair, but the alternative (backing away from the challenge) is worse*.

*Speaking as the mom of a son with a disability, who is entering a pretty decent college this fall--and who I was told was never going to be able to hold a conversation or handle an abstract concept--it's hard. It's a lot of work.

Wow. You really need to get the fuck over yourself. If you want to be a part of the community then stop whining and start participating. Stop making everything about you and how unfairly you think you are being treated. If you don't want to be treated like a petulant child then fucking stop acting like one.

RE: Hello
Thou I don't hold hardly agree with most of the people. You do need to easy up on being so defensive. I hand't read anything in the post that would suggest people wouldn't accepting of you.

You've post only 7 times and for us to get a better sense of who you are, you'd have to post more.

Respect is earned, not given.

As for your college debacle. Your school should have a guidance counselor that may be able to help you find a better suited degree. When I went to college I can't tell you how many people changed there majors threw out the years of going. It's been said already by you can get transferred to another college should certain requirements be meet. such as a GPA or GED classes. We can't tell you want you're going to be. It is your life, you will have to make the decision.

I want you to stay. But like I said before, do what you want to do. You don't need to be well-thought-of by the community to post, man. Reddies > green scum.

That's up to you. For example: if someone chooses to get hung up on the idea that you're a troll, or an asshole, or any number of thing, and they bring it to attention by way of public post, you have the choice to not respond to it.

When people question your intentions, or your character, simply ignore it. Pretend that the content doesn't exist. Doing so means, and shows, that such a discussion will not take place with you. If you respond by definding yourself, you are actually saying that it is reasonable to question your character/intentions. You've lent the notion credit by fighting it.

Just stick to that which is relevant to the topic. If the topic is queries about acedemics, then only respond to/create posts that have to do with that. By responding to derailing you contribute to it.
