The chances of one person speaking up and changing a society are minute.

The timing has to be just right, and something horrendous has to happen to draw attention to the person.

If there was much of a chance of it working here, I'd be standing on a roof top shouting out things.

why? because you think you understood why I did something but actually didn't? It's not my fault what you thought were the reasons for me doing something were in fact not the reasons.
If anyone should be sabotaging someones brakes in that situation it would be me for having a neighbor flip shit for absolutely no fault of my own but rather because he herd a few noses through the wall and decided he knew the whole story.

A society must be ready for that change though. And I don't think those societies are. Or even if some people there are, those with the real power would never allow it.
