Hey, look. New meat.
It's pretty neat that i could get my own name as a user, I think. That makes introducing my name as simple as looking up.

But this is the first time I have been in a forum (or any place really) predominantly atheist. Typically I am on the general, off topic, gaming/social forum.

First off, why are standard introductions so awkward? (e.g. My name is Tom. I like long walks on the beach and wearing pretty dresses. My favorite color is peach. My favorite food is anorexia. etc.) It would make this so easy if I could just do that and NOT sound like a douche-bag.

Let's just start with I know there exists no theistic god and i believe there exists no deistic god and go from there?

RE: Hey, look. New meat.
The title made me expect a Christian =p

Really all you had to discuss in this opening was what brought you to atheism. Now everyone's just gonna have to ask. The real trick to writing up a introduction is to try to be cocky. People love confidence =p

I'm not a non believer, I believe in the possibility of anything. I just don't let the actuality of something be determined by a 3rd party.

For no matter how much I use these symbols, to describe symptoms of my existence.
You are your own emphasis.
So I say nothing.

Well... to each his own, I suppose. Welcome aboard.

I'll let you get acclimated before we start the heavy stuff.

Welcome Smile

The fact that you "know" a god doesn't exist, seems more ridiculous than any sort of religion. Religion: Belief with tiny tiny, crap evidence. You: Belief with ZERO evidence. Religion seems to be the winner. But we should leave that another time.

Welcome again Smile

Really? Let's not leave it for another time.
Don't you suppose that by "know" he might mean "is convinced"?

What evidence, even tiny crap, do you have?

Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.
