Hi
Saying Hi to you all. I'm new. I was a Christian. I underwent the painful process of de-conversion several years ago and now consider myself a Deist. I'm here to hear the atheists' reasons for thinking there is no god. I hope I will be welcome here. I may end up being an atheist, I don't know at this point. I found this forum after listening to Seth's audiobook "DeConverted".

RE: Hi
Welcome to the board!

One of my favorite sayings that helped me during my phase of transition goes as such:

"Keep an open mind, but not too open that your brain may fall out"

Enjoy your stay and enjoy the journey of discovering yourself, Journey! Big Grin

RE: Hi
Yes, you will be welcome here. Even Christians are welcome here. To my knowledge, we have one other deist on the forums.

You won't find too many who argue this. That would be an a-deist position.

Rather, many atheists here would say that there is no reason to believe gods exist i.e.
Is a god guilty or not guilty of existing? We would say "not guilty" (or in Scottish law, "not proven") rather than "innocent" of not existing.

As per Hitch's opening remarks...

RE: Hi
Thank you so much for the welcome!

Thank you for the Hitchens video. I am planning on reading his work next since he was referenced in "DeConversion".

I will check out the Recovering from Religion section.

I'm glad to know there is another Deist here. I hope to meet him/her.

Welcome to the journey. Consider
