Hi There
I just wanted to say hello as a new member. When I was six years old, my parents' half-hearted social church attendance came to an end when I refused to get on board with the Noah myth and couldn't swallow the Jonah tale. We were all happy to get our Sundays back. Everything I have learned since then has confirmed my lack of belief and led me to an endlessly rewarding love of natural science. I am now a retired geophysicist (seismology), and always glad to meet fellow free thinkers.

Yup, science ... the best confirmation bias there is.

RE: Hi There
Welcome Smile

Six years old? Nice work!

My parents never even mentioned religion to me as far as I know. I first encountered it when I started school, back in the days when they were allowed to lead prayer in assembly. I concluded these people were seriously weird. Only the teachers were taking it seriously, they weren't fooling any of us as far as I can remember. We just nodded along and humoured them Tongue

I have a website here which discusses the issues and terminology surrounding religion and atheism. It's hopefully user friendly to all.

Welcome.

The first revolt is against the supreme tyranny of theology, of the phantom of God. As long as we have a master in heaven, we will be slaves on earth.

Were you involved in the Canadian oilpatch in your seismic work?

RE: Hi There
G'day Dorsie, and welcome mate. Smile

LOL... "couldn't swallow the Jonah tale".

I'm a creationist... I believe that man created God.
