Hiking and Backpacking Thread
I've been hiking for awhile--just recently got into backpacking...so here's a thread for all of us atheists (and others out there in TTA land) who like to get their nature on. Big Grin

I thought this would be a good place to post hiking/backpacking-related advice, questions, pics etc.

RE: Hiking and Backpacking Thread
Just got back from three nights at Keeha Bay. It's a short, but challenging 3.5km hike in, then another half k along the beach to where we camped.

This is where I slept..

My view from the hammock was pretty decent..

So many cats, so few good recipes.

I have always loved the mountains and hiked extensively even doing a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail some years ago. The best hike I have ever done though was Table Mountain in western Wyoming. You hike through acres of wildflowers to a flat summit that looks like it was made as a viewing platform for the Tetons. Anyone close enough to reach this mountain should go immediately.

If we did, it would use up the majority of your visit. Next year. Wink

RE: Hiking and Backpacking Thread
I'm at work at the nature preserve right now. I hike about two to three miles daily, on patrol or relieving a coworker. I'm on my phone right now so pics aren't happening, but when I get home tonight I'll post some.

I have some pics as well--I pretty much have a mountain in my backyard. Right now, I'm dealing with a baby rattlesnake that is living in my backyard. I'm trying to find a humane agency to remove him.

Country living is like that, for better and worse. I sure am glad you didn't just kill it, like most would. Smile

Make sure you're very careful with your dogs back there. Where there's one, there's more.
