Smile Hilarious Irony

Could not help but notice the irony of this advertisement popping up while I was browsing the forum. Just had to show everyone. Big Grin

RE: Hilarious Irony
That's how clueless some people must be, I guess. To think that someone on a forum/site called the "thinking atheist" would convert based on a banner ad...

Better without God, and happier too.

RE: Hilarious Irony
I think it's just that the ads are targeted at 'religious' sites. This happens in a lot of places. Probably just an error of automated marketing. Just good to know that religious money is being harmlessly diverted somewhere.

RE: Hilarious Irony
Well, to be fair, the ads are generated according to key words found within the website. We say words like "god" and "religion" a lot, so we get lots of ads that are realevant. There isn't a person choosing which ads go on the site, just a computer program.

.......sorry, did I just ruin all the funny?

So many cats, so few good recipes.

No, it didn't ruin it for me, it just reveals the ignorance of the people who create the software. :-)

Or perhaps the profound intelligence of the people who wrote the software? The purpose of an ad is to get noticed, and obviously they succeeded there!

.....or not.

Are the ads sponsored links?
If so, TTA receives money from them every time you click on them right?

Is anyone else up for an experiment?
I propose we pick certain words for example egg fried rice, and say it as often as possible in our posts to see how long it takes before we see ads about it.
