RE: Himalayan glaciers maintaining size over past decade.
I can't believe you guys are still arguing over this. None of you it seems on either side, and especially including the OP have actually READ the original study that you are referencing. Go read the actual study. It says basically only a small area in the Himalayas didn't lose ice, but overall there was still massive ice loss.

I can't believe you started a thread on a study in the news without actually reading what it said. Don't get your science news from popular media, you will only embarrass yourself.

I will tell the truth, I did not read it, but I assumed wrongfully that the OP actually read it. He posts here quite frequently, though usually just about Ron Paul. Still, I guess thats what happens when you assume things.

PS: Someone actually did read the study btw, and posted this already a page or so back. However, the climate deniers don't really care. When they thought this SINGLE piece of lonely data completely disproved climate change they were all for it, but when it does the opposite, well it just falls into the huge pile of falsified data.

Climate change denying is just like a religion.

Face it. You believe it because you're liberal and climate change science benefits the environment and punishes corporations via taxation.

I am sure those links are just as reliable as the last, and I am sure you investigated them just as thoroughly as the OP.

How about some legit scientific journals?

Quote:Face it. You believe it because you're liberal and climate change science benefits the environment and punishes corporations via taxation.
Whether I am a liberal or not, I dont really know or care. I never gave that much thought, as I dont try to categorize my beliefs. I certainly don't limit my thought process based on a box some people place themselves in.

I wouldn't say punish the corporations, just hold them responsible for their polluting. It will help the environment, and hopefully become a stepping stone to get us off oil. However, that is good for everyone. Even if you believe its a scam developed by the govt for some unknown reason, then the worst case scenario is we pollute less and the environment gets better, thus softening the blow when we run out of fossil fuels in 20 or so years.

Ohhh and climate change denial is a religion. The internet is your church, and you message is completely faith based, where as all the scientific knowledge points to the obvious fact that we are changing our climate.

RE: Himalayan glaciers maintaining size over past decade.
Carbon emmisions are "mashing up the planet"

So I suppose we better cut carbon emmisions drastically then.

No....no need to.....lets just put a tax on it, that will sort the problem out Rolleyes

EDIT: Now before anybody jumps on me I know it isnt that simple..its just broadly how I see the whole way the corporatio.....oh im mean goverment are handling it...However if my taxs and living expenses have to go up they best be damned using every single penny of it towards alternative energies.

No one better be profitng off this shit caus if they do then there just laughing at us.

I read each word of each article/page. So short of contacting the scientists themselves it's about all I have to go on.

You may not shape your beliefs to a certain community of people, but your beliefs certainly put you in thier category. Whether you intend to or not.

My method is not faith based. I'm simply unconvinced and given the vast number of scientists that still remain skeptical I'd say my position isn't exactly radical or extreme. And your right, scientific evidence does point towards man made global warming. But that doesn't mean that it's the case. IMO the fact that temps have risen as CO2 has gone up is coincidental. When they can prove that temps would have not gone up had we not been here then I'll be a little more convinced. But to my knowledge no credible climatologist can definitively claim that temps rising aren't due to natural Earth and solar processes.

They just want money........through taxs that will be passed onto you, me and everybody else.

Anybody???

This. Even if the results are accurate it's not because it's being studied properly.

It's a lot like this comic.

The conclusion being that men are creating global warming. Now let's look for facts to support that conclusion.
