Holding an empty bucket
A line from a debate by Christopher Hitchens. The gist of what Hitchens said (for those of you not familiar with his debates) was that you can have all the miracles in the bible, and you will still be where you are now. Holding an empty bucket.

He was basically reiterating the Argument from Ignorance, but not explicitly saying it. Probably because A) people shut down when you say it B) what they are saying is a logical fallacy C) they think it is a personal insult and D) it delivers a bit more of a punch this way.

So, several theists on the forum these days claim to have evidence for god (negating the notion of faith, but we will ignore this slight against god's command).

So, please present;
1) your best evidence
and
2) the demonstration that this evidence is logically linked to a god or to a supernatural presence.

Good luck.

Hey, BD.

What's the link between the empty bucket and the evidence for God?

Peace and Love and Empathy,

Matt

Both are devoid of content

Re: Holding an empty bucket
The idea is that even given a miracle, like water to wine, there is no logical connection between water to wine and God.

Basically, it's another way of saying empty handed.

You should probably know that I have reasons to believe that intellect is fundamental to our existence.
