RE: Holy Pharmaceuticals Batman!
Here is a perfect example of why it sucks: I used to pay $230 a month, and that included a $35 copay for doctor's visits, $50 ER visits and a deductible of $5K for hospitals, etc. we found out today, we pay ALL doctor visits and ER and my deductible is $12K for everything. I get no copay for anything. All this for the bargain of $863 a month.

Why were you no longer able to negotiate with Humana as you did before? Was their plan substandard according to the ACA minimum requirements?

RE: Holy Pharmaceuticals Batman!
The ACA makes every plan offer everything, including mental health, etc. Before the ACA, you could get a plan that had just the standard primary physician, specialists, ER, prescription and hospitals. Now, the ACA makes me pay for having all services at my disposal whether I want them or not, it's non-negotiable. It's like a cable bill. I get CSPAN whether I want it or not, and can't remove it and save money. It's horrible. No,mmh last plan wasn't negotiated and it was put lacking, it just wasn't superfluous. It was a great deal.

And by the way, the plan I have is the CHEAPEST one I could get. It blows.

I doubt that. You're smarter than that.

Not sure what you mean, it literally is the cheapest plan available for my pay grade, unless I don't want coverage and want to pay everything out of pocket and the yearly fine.

I already answered this. There is no negotiation, the plans are the plans now. Back then there was much more variety and you could choose what you want. Now, you can only choose what amount and corresponding deductible you want to pay.
