RE: How I came to TTA. Is this funny?
Yeah, so, anyway, we had been asked to attend a meeting to discuss our family situation because of my wife's declining physical and mental health as she had been pretty much bed bound for several years and I had to take on her care and my son's and hold down a very demanding job with very little family help.

Anyway, it was raining and I parked at the far end of the parking lot and as we walked my wife lost her balance, as she had flat soles on and is slightly paralyzed down the left side from a stroke. I was holding her arm and as she went, she pulled me with her and I landed on her left shin and snapped her ankle in half. She had to have a two full plates the length of her shin. She was in such pain that when she was in hospital she took an overdose of sleeping pills. She came out of it a few days later and she's fine now but the time in the wheelchair made her gain so much weight she had to have gastric surgery. The whole experience made us pack up and move, it was utterly horrifying the way people treat those with debilitating brain damage and those who are burdened with their care. They provide no help and drag you to meetings to get you to explain what you are doing to help your wife and your child.

So, yes, Anjele, no one loves me here. Made your day saying that, did it?

Undecided
That sounds awful

Swing with me a while, we can listen to the birds call, we can keep each other warm.
Swing with me forever, we can count up every flower, we can weather every storm.

There is. But necro porn is pretty disturbing.

Kinda funny. Would have been funnier if someone had actually believed you though.

RE: How I came to TTA. Is this funny?
So, yes, that's the reason I am here.

I had a wife in bed 24/7 for years and my only outlet was to go on the internet and try to get help for my wife and find some intellectual stimulation. It's hard to find topics to talk about when all you do all day long is help someone go to the toilet and get them food, change the TV channel for them and pick your kid up from school.

Then I found Ralph Ellis' name and found his theory so unbelievable and extraordinary that I started looking around the internet to find out about it since I couldn't figure it out at all. I first came across in on a newspaper site where he has left a comment and I thought nothing of it, but then it came up or he had been on the forum I had also been on and was kicked off that forum so I continued looking for him and eventually found his name here. I got in touch with him, got his book and read it. Hey, the rest is history!!!!

Of course, he didn't mention Horus. I think my take on that is entirely original. At least I hope it is. I wouldn't want anyone else on the planet to be villified just for having an "idea" in their head. Oh, shit, no, of course, I've done much worse... I've tried to discuss it, which is pretty serious and pretty awful if you are living in a society which has no Bill of Rights guarantee of free speech and people bully and brow beat those who dare to speak their minds. I think there's an expression for it: I don't agree with what you say but I would fight you to the death to deny you your right to say it." Am I right on that one.

Anyway, good luck to you. I hear Donald is in the lead today

Betting markets still have her as 3:1 favorite. Nate the geek as her at 2:1.

I can't imagine what kind of person you must be to pull off a cruel hoax like that... to pull and manipulate people's heartstrings like that. Need I remind you that a beloved member of our forum passed away a few months ago? It was painful and heart wrenching and no, it's not fun and games to make light of death like that. And yes it's "too soon" to try to salvage this situation through any efforts of humor. It would be tacky to try.

Pretty certain I'm not 'in' on the inside joke here ... if that's what it is.

Hi Deltabravo,

Looking carefully through the thread, your posts do read like trolling, but most creatively. Some years back I had a go at trolling. On a science forum I claimed that I could predict the fall of a coin toss by counting the the preceding tosses. This, I believe is the gamblers fallacy or something like that.

Anyway, I stuck to my story and the thread got 15,000 views and massively long replies. Everyone cued up to tell me that I was wrong. I stuck to my story. There is some psychological truth in here somewhere, but I don't know what it is.

So, what I have learned is that trolling is not for me. To gain some respect from a peer group on the web, or anywhere, it helps to be honest, empathetic and sincere. I believe that, but am afraid that Donald Trump might prove me wrong in November. No

D.
