They actually do say meaningful stuff, unlike D. Chopra Esquire. I actually really feel that Gibran's stuff on love is pretty spot on. But... like the other day I was talking about this stuff and I pulled it out and read the relevant passage to the chick I was chatting to at the time and instead of having a deep discussion about love she proceeded to swoon... it was like every word was a jolt to her clit. I mean it was hot, don't get me wrong but... I was actually more into literary criticism at the time... Weeping

Most men...it just comes across...argh. Like cheesy one liner stuff. It's very off putting. Makes my eyes glaze, and not cause I'm swooning.

You actually have the intellect to discuss such topics - that's probably more swoon worthy than the topic at hand. Those types of discussions and banter are like intellectual foreplay.

Lucky girl - all I get is "omg you such a hot mama gurl lol" or "I was thinking of doing things to you" Facepalm or last night's guy was just completely fucking oblivious.

I'm finally single and all the men with brains go hiding under rocks.

RE: How Sweet is This?
On my birthday one year I came home from work and there was a note on the front door from my husband with directions to proceed to a page in a book of poems by Christina Rossetti on our bookshelf which was a poem titled A Birthday.

MY heart is like a singing bird
Whose nest is in a water'd shoot;
My heart is like an apple-tree
Whose boughs are bent with thick-set fruit;
My heart is like a rainbow shell
That paddles in a halcyon sea;
My heart is gladder than all these,
Because my love is come to me.

Next to the poem was a note to proceed to another book on the bookshelf of sonnets by Shakespeare, to the page with the sonnet , Shall I Compare Thee To A Summer's Day.

Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate.
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer’s lease hath all too short a date.
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimmed;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance, or nature’s changing course, untrimmed;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow’st,
Nor shall death brag thou wand’rest in his shade,
When in eternal lines to Time thou grow’st.
So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

Next to this sonnet was a note which instructed me to open up the refrigerator and in the fridge was a small bouquet of roses......with a note to drive to a beautiful park and go a particular bench under a certain tree.

When I got to the bench I discovered my husband's best friend was waiting there..... to escort me to another area of the park, near a babbling brook and another park bench. My husband was sitting on the bench reading a newspaper with two goofy looking eyeholes in the paper, like a cartoon spy thingy, it was very funny.

The best friend bowed and said goodby and my husband took my hand and we went to a romantic dinner then a romantic movie and later lots of sex.

I'll never forget it.

Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors.... on Donald J. Trump:

He is deformed, crooked, old, and sere,
Ill-fac’d, worse bodied, shapeless every where;
Vicious, ungentle, foolish, blunt, unkind,
Stigmatical in making, worse in mind.
