How do reputations work?
I've seen a few people with negative reputations. How do they get that? Is there a way to vote them down or something?

RE: How do reputations work?
When you enter someone's profile, there is an option to rate them. A window pops up and you choose whether you want to give a positive, neutral or negative rating.

I'm not sure if there are any limitations for new members though.

RE: How do reputations work?
When you click on someone's rep number, you can read the comments left by others.

Negative rep points tend to come from
-proslethsizing
-getting caught in lies
- being asshole to others
- being dumber than a rock
- standing by poor arguments
- being a troll

There's other ways too, but that is what I've noticed.

Theists ARE welcome here, it's not an atheist only board, in fact our former admin KC is a theist.

There are some limitations for new members but, if I'm being brutally honest, I've given up trying to figure out what they are. Every time I think I've figured it out some scenario will occur that will prove me wrong so I've settled for thinking; "there is some form of restriction on newbies giving rep but they should be able to reasonably quickly, unless they go straight to negative and stay there".

This.

The two years I was on the FT, I never once had a solid, 100% answer for this.
