Its easy...

If you have a delusion you are considered a sociopath but if everyone in your society has the same delusion its called "religion" it doesn't need to have anything else.

Dreams/Hallucinations/delusions are not evidence
Wishful thinking is not evidence
Disproved statements&Illogical conclusions are not evidence
Logical fallacies&Unsubstantiated claims are not evidence
Vague prophecies is not evidence
Data that requires a certain belief is not evidence

I see what you mean... That's true too.

Religions always paint morality as black and white, good v evil.

Its an "us against the world" attitude.

Exactly.
"Black and white" was the phrase I was looking for.

Black and white thinking is a good point:

"There's no morality without MY God"

"We're surrounded by SIN and TORMENT and EVIL and THE POWERS OF SATAN!" There's a Christian forum I check up on fairly frequently. The "new threads" area is flooded with "I'm under attack by satan," "does this website mean my child is getting involved in witchcraft," and "resisting temptation" threads. It's entertaining.

"There's no salvation without MY God!" (The Ba'hai and Unitarians are an exception to this, and disdained by others)

"You can either BELIEVE or be DAMNED to x for x amount of time!"

The irony is how much the Fundies and some Evangelicals hate Islam, yet desire a similarly rigid, enforceable belief system.

“It is a capital mistake to theorize before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts.”
― Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Sherlock Holmes
