RE: How geek are you?
I guess I would score pretty high on the geekometer.

College Majors: English, Applied Math & Physics, Mathematics
College Degree: None (never finished)
Associate Degree (2-year tech school): Electronic Technology

Job/Profession: Tech. Support & Tech. Writing (laser printers)

Hobbies: Reading, listening to music (mostly jazz and classical), chess, mathematics, bicycling

"Fashion Sense": None
Wife/lover/girlfriend: None

I'm not really into sci-fi in a big way, although I have enjoyed the writing of Ray Bradbury, Harlan Ellison, and Orson Scott Card. But I'm much more heavily into people like Shakespeare, Dostoevsky, Joyce, Faulkner, etc. (I was an English major, after all). I have read just about everything by Faulkner.

Occupation
I write software

Hobbies
D&D
used to play Magic: the Gathering (and still would, given the chance)
Computer games
Doom modding
Legos

Other
I own a chianmail shirt that I wear for various costumes

Also, I'm busy making my daughters equally geeky. This picture is almost a year old, but here is my five-year-old having a Lego battle with me (her idea). Go figure: she chooses the side that has a dragon and a wizard. Guess who won?

Some of my hobbies and interests are and some are not.

Is it the things that make a geek or the approach? I can geek out on stuff by being obsessed and learning everything about it. Space, cameras, gardening, biological matter, books, etc. I'd most often rather stay home and explore these things than go out and do 'stuff'.

My fashion is good, but to me that's art and expression not just to do it.

I have the occasional bad fashion day though… these never go over well.

Whenever I drink or get high, I start babbling on about science and philosophy. Some women will excitedly claim to be interested in science, but tend to lose me once I start talking about higher dimensions or calabi-yao manifolds.

Non-geeks are just so boring to talk to.

That reminds me: when I was in college, I developed a reputation for teaching people binary while drunk. Not sure how it started, but it became a running joke.

Hummm. I'm not a geek. At least, I don't think I am.

Let's see.....

College Major: Theatre. Emphasis in Costume Design and Costume History. Also Set Design.
College Minor: Ballet/Dance

Hobbies: Hiking, biking, Yoga, ballroom dancing, gardening. Very social. About the only geeky hobby is reading about ancient history.
Don't play video games. Boring. Too much sitting in one place. Too isolating.

Fashion sense: Excellent. Love clothes, design and make my own.
Color sense: Hyper-excellent.

Totaling that all up.......Nope, not geeky at all.

Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors.... on Donald J. Trump:

He is deformed, crooked, old, and sere,
Ill-fac’d, worse bodied, shapeless every where;
Vicious, ungentle, foolish, blunt, unkind,
Stigmatical in making, worse in mind.

A guy at work referred to us (he and I) as geeks. I told him that I am not a geek. He quite firmly said - yes, you are.

Thought I hid it better. Sadcryface

See here they are the bruises some were self-inflicted and some showed up along the way. - JF

How are you geeky, Anjele? Maybe you're just an Ancient Geek? Or you eat lots of geek salads.
