RE: How has The Thinking Atheist helped you out?
I have found a community where I've met people with conditions similar to mine (manic depression, major depressive disorder, general anxiety disorder). Hell some of us even take the same meds. It helps me to know I'm not alone with people going through a similar hell and I share a common metaphysics. Erik was one of us. That didn't help me.

What has it done for me? Given me a place to play in my retirement a couple of hours a day. Sitting on the beach looking at the little brown girls is great, but one needs something else to fill in some of the time. This is it!

My wonderful friends. The patience I am shown even when out of my skull. I was able to find a place of incredible individuals when I most needed them. They have never let me down.

NOTE: Member, Tomasia uses this site to slander other individuals. He then later proclaims it a joke, but not in public.
I will call him a liar and a dog here and now.

Living in the highly conservative, religious area that I do, it has been such a relief to find a place that is safe to be out and open as an atheist. I look forward to listening to the podcast every week, especially the stories of others who have broke free from religion. It helps me to feel a little less outnumbered.

This.

As for the forum; people have let me vent, answered questions I've had (but haven't asked), and have generally treated me as an equal instead of throwing a hissy fit when I disagree (something a few Catholic boards I'm on could learn from).

Need to think of a witty signature.
