About the same as Starks mom!

Hey, MoronDog, How about you calculate your virginity?Tongue

Dude, those are calculations that anyone with a high school diploma should be able to do.

That's a relief. I never got that far.

So why doesn't the earth sink to the bottom of the universe under all that weight?

RE: How much does the ice weigh?
I would like to apologize for realizing I made a second mistake. I forgot to convert centimeters to meters. Little niggling mistakes like that are my main problem in math like this. Tongue

13720000 * 2 = 27440000 km3 = 2.744e10 m3 of ice

The density of ice is 92.0 kg/m3 (not .920)

Therefore:

2.744e10 m3 * 92.0 kg/m3 = 2.524e12 kg = 2.524e9 tonnes

2,524,000,000

Or two and a half trillion tonnes.

That's my final answer. For real this time. Tongue

E 2 = (mc 2)2 + (pc )2
614C → 714N + e + ̅νe
2 K(s) + 2 H2O(l) → 2 KOH(aq) + H2 (g) + 196 kJ/mol
It works, bitches.

Volume x Density = Mass

Men Calculations: just because I understand them, doesn't mean I have to do any of them. Dodgy

RE: How much does the ice weigh?
The most amazing part of the ice sheets on Greenland and Antarctica is that the amount of mass they contain in ice affects global sea level in some very non-obvious ways. The depression generated by the ice on the continents means that there is a responsive uplift in the surrounding ocean floor. So, if the ice melts, the continent will isostaically rebound up while the surrounding ocean basin will get deeper. This will generate a decrease in sea-level locally as the ice melts. The second way is that the ice has enough mass to attract the water to it via gravitational attraction. That means sea level is higher near the ice sheets but as the ice melts, it will lose that mass that generates the gravitational attraction.

So, sea level will actually rise in some areas as the ice sheets continue to melt

I understand women calculations in a limited way, so I always try to do them twice to make sure...

No, women calculations are like jigsaw puzzles... they are fun to do... once!
