RE: How to debate end timers
This may not help but I always go into the history of their source material: The Book of Revelation. (and make it a point to mention it's not "Revelations", even Xians get this wrong!) The history, how it relates to apocalyptic literature, etc.

RE: How to debate end timers
That was a very insightful video. Thank you for sharing!

'End timers' are pretty much conspiracy theorists. They're a different breed than your typical theist or creationist. One primary reason why most believers believe is because they're surrounded by other believers. They're motivated on a daily basis to devote themselves to their shared religious beliefs and practices. Most aren't expecting you to publicly disagree with them because they think what they believe is the norm.

Conspiracy theorists are different. They're expecting backlash. Your rebuttals will actually embolden them. Chances are they have an idol, someone who's feeding them this garbage. You'd think finding out who they're forfeiting their rationality and common sense to and sabotaging their reputation would help solve the problem, but you're just going to escalate the argument. That's the truth behind all conspiracy theorists. It's not the horrendously flawed argument they're using that's the problem. The problem is that argument is just an excuse they're using for having these unfounded, convoluted views in the first place. They know their argument is expendable. And when it's served its purpose, they'll abandon it and replace it with an equally idiotic one.

How do you debate conspiracy theorists? Use facts, evidence, logic, and common sense. Communicate your points clearly and thoroughly. Avoid traps (strawmans, red herrings, etc..). It's even better if there's an audience. Don't expect to get a concession out of the conspiracy theorist(s). They're buried deep in their delusions. No, convince the neutral minds watching. It's the least you can do to make a positive difference.

If you think Superman is real, comics are historical events,
and a bite from a radioactive spider will give you superpowers,
congratulations! You're on the same playing field as a theist.
