What is the connection? How can you call both of them one "you"?

It's still not anything that could exist. The idea is dependent on some Hindi/Buddhist/Integral theory type of unified consciousness that permeates the universe.

It's just an old concept that existed and lingers based on over promoting the concept of consciousness as something essential or relevant to the universe.
