Howdy
My name is Matt and I'm from DFW. Ugh, the bible belt.

Welcome Smile

My condolences for having to live in the nutty sector.

I have a website here which discusses the issues and terminology surrounding religion and atheism. It's hopefully user friendly to all.

Welcome.

The first revolt is against the supreme tyranny of theology, of the phantom of God. As long as we have a master in heaven, we will be slaves on earth.

Welcome to TTA!

DFW people crack me up. Dog help you if you say they're from Dallas when they're really from Fort Worth! And Richardson people just plain flip out if you lump them in with their neighbors. It's hilarious.

Of course, Kansas City people (where I am) are the same, if you just say they're from KC when they're really from one of the numerous suburbs. I've also experienced the same phenomenon in Houston and New Orleans.

People!

Hi Matt. Welcome to TTA.

Watch out: there's a lot of those "atheist" types, here. Wink

It's funny how where you are can change your perspective of where other places are.

When I was growing up in upstate NY, the "Midwest" began at Ohio.
When I moved to Oregon the "Midwest" suddenly shifted to Nebraska.

I still remember hanging out in a student lounge at the University of Oregon, and overhearing two undergrads discuss their plans for Christmas break:

"I'll be visiting some friends on the East Coast for the holidays," said the girl from Oregon.
"Really?" said the girl from California; "where on the East Coast?"
"Chicago," replied the Oregonian.

Yes
