RE: I am now churchless.
We visited a Reformed church today. It was nice, but it didn't feel complete. We're going to try other Reformed churches in the coming weeks. Hopefully, we find a home.

It was on Nehemiah 9. Pretty much going through the covenant that God made with us. We also had communion and we talked about that tradition.

Why?
I promise you that if you stop going to church the world will continue to spin. Night will still follow day, day wills till follow night. The world will go on and all will not implode.
I promise you, if there is a god (which there isn't), then you knowing within yourself that you believe in him will be enough to satisfy his ego.

But I can also promise you that if you don't go to church, you will be able to sleep in on Sundays...

Be a man, do the right thing, let it go.

RE: I am now churchless.
I'm sorry to hear that KC. Now would be a great time to re-evaluate all your options carefully. Smile

How is it wrong?

It's logic 101.

God is omnipotent (that's the right word right?)
This means god is all powerful.
Thus, god knows all.
Thus, god knows if you truly believe.
Thus, what fucking difference does it make if you announce that to the world by going to a boring lecture every Sunday morning or if you just stfu?

To say that you must profess your belief implies that god is not all powerful in which case he is not god.

So really KC, by going to church you are saying God is not God...
What kind of Christian are you to say what is and what isn't God KC??
For shame!

RE: I am now churchless.
You missed that God isn't logical and God said right there in the Holy Book "Go to church, you evil faithless misbegotten tool, who is only saved by my capricious will and I will never change my mind anyway, but go to Church anyway because I said so".
