OTOH one *can* be all of those things *and* an introvert too Smile We are not constrained.

I'm just here because of the thread title and I wanted to chime in and say I agree 100%.

I wasn't expecting any actual introspection. Angry

I might not want to talk all of the time, but I almost always like someone else in the room with me. I don't ever not want to be around other people unless I've been forced to deal with someone else's kids for a few hours.

Problem is I suck at keeping up with people so I don't really have many friends and I end up by myself a lot. That, and most of my friends were through my ex. So yeh. It's lonely - wouldn't be so bad if I were more of an introvert.

Like right now - didnt want to be at the house by myself, so I left and am now at Starbucks. I'm not a big Starbucks fan, but there aren't any cute coffee shops near my parents' house and their lounge chairs here are comfy. Don't know anyone here, not talking to anyone, but there are people around.

RE: I blame DLJ!
I think "introvert" is very misunderstood ... it seems to have taken on some negative connotation. I've actually found myself wondering why being an introvert is such "a bad thing". Personally, I think it's more of a natural state of being.

I've noticed when I'm around people, they often wonder aloud, how I manage to get so much stuff done. I'll usually tell them the truth ... that I don't let people & socializing distract me from what I want to do. I get shit done and then I get social. The next words out of their mouths are, "Don't you get lonely?"

I think I've come to the conclusion that many people are simply afraid to be alone. I'm not certain why.... and it's probably different for everyone.

Consider Still thinking that over.
