I think I took a test like this a while back. I appear to have grown less fond of authority over the years.

Economic Left/Right: 5.25
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.90

Nothing overly surprising there, I've been a Republican for years; I'm just now moving out of the fold of the party in Libertarianism, which I feel lines up more closely with my views than the imposed views of my parents.

I sure hope you intend to vote for Ron Paul.

I had to look up some terms, but it seems I'm the same as the majority of people here:

To a certain degree. More left than most I guess, but I expected that, being a Marxist and all that.

Marxism would probably have you more in the top left corner. You're just a liberal. Regualar ole liberal.

I disagree. I went lower on social issues, lefter on economic issues. The social questions are not affected.

However, I do believe in personal freedom and equal rights, so I am a liberal as well.

But you believe in income and class equality? I can't imagine why. While we shouldn't discriminate based on income and class we certainly shouldn't limit or hinder a persons ability to build weath and keep it to themselves. IMO at least. Marxism isn't exactly a successfully applied system of government.

I can feel the Republican in me starting to rear it's head.

RE: I'd like everyone to take this political quiz if you don't mind.
It's not. But then it's about 150 years out of date. But the basic ideas are, and they work pretty well in developed countries. The next step is a classless stateless society, and Marxism isn't about forcing communism, but rather that it's a natural step to take after this.

As for why, there's a lot of arguments for an against. I do believe that people should be encouraged to be ambitious, but I don't believe in greed. I don't believe some people should be able to buy cars the prices of which could feed a village for a fortnight, while others have to wait 6 months to see a doctor because they can't afford insurance.

Maybe I'll grow of it. My father used to say "If you're not a communist when you're twenty, you don't have a heart. If you're still a a communist when you're forty, you don't have a brain." (Quote not his, but I forget who he attributed it to).
Maybe I'm just a little late Tongue
