OK, everyone's had their fun. Now the truth.

We make up all these stories just to annoy you, KC. Yes

Chas, you're quickly becoming one of my favorites around here.

All information in the above post is my own opinion and will not
necessarily be logically sound or conform to reality as we know it.

You have been warned. Tongue

Everyone seems to have a story of at least one... most of y'all have been saturated by them. I was just reading Thomas' topic in Real Life Debates and saw amyb's response about her roommate.

My first thought was "lolwtf". But then I started thinking about all the other times over the past two years that I've read about people's experiences with crazy Christians.

I know I've asked before, but the question still stands.

I mean... I've been surrounded by Christians my whole life, and I've maybe experience the caliber of crazy that y'all do twice... and I live deep in Christian country... although, the Baton Rouge-New Orleans metro area isn't as fundie influenced as the rest of the Bible Belt but still...

I don't know how these Christians that y'all experience seemingly on a daily basis can function in society. They seem to be so out of touch with realiy that it's scary... and definitely not a representation of Christ or Christian behavior. Yes, we're to be set apart... but not in a way that frightens the crap out of a person because you're so weird.

Just tell me where to find these people... because... I can't. I would love to have a word with them.

The crazy ones that you are referring to, function just fine in society. They pay taxes, mortgages, and drive cars(imagine that! Christians driving carsTongue) just like everyone else. Normal in most aspect of everyday life.

The insanities surface when you question them on their nutty beliefs. Even something as simple as showing them a verse in the bible, can sometimes send your garden variety Christians for a spin.

They are my parents.

You could start a thread in the Support Forum about that. Smile

Or you can call/PM and I'll reveal the secret, mystic joys of Grumpy. Thumbsup

Can't do it here - it involves a secret handshake and stuff.

.... but you can do the secret handshake over PM or phone?

Seriously, KC. We don't find them. They find us. I think they're magnetically drawn to heathens. Or maybe they're like werewolves, except instead of ceasing to be ordinary humans when exposed to the full moon, they trigger off of overt disbelief.

It's a digital handshake. Yes

I like to think these fundie Christians are frothing at the mouth on their own time, and when they go to church it's like *BAM* they go all "Rambo" and frothing at the mouth towards whomever their preacher tells them isn't with god. I think they find meaning in doing it, too.

So yeah, they come looking for us. Good thing too, I'm lazy as fuck. Drinking Beverage
