RE: I don't know dick about Limey politics but ...
"A POEM, STRONG AND STABLE
How blessed am I
to live beneath a strong and stable sky
and the warmth it enables me
from a sun that shines down,
strongly and stably.

Me, with these strong and stable legs,
that take me past the queues
of people – long unable to be fed –
waiting to give thanks
outside strong and stable food banks,

and beyond where the library once was,
now strongly converted
to stable a private medical centre,
that makes the sick (but financially abler)
stronger and stabler.

And further on, the school
strongly lacking in staple equipment –
whiteboards, books, teachers –
all signs of a strong and stable commitment
to the dismantling of lives.

I thank the government
for such strong and stable times
then wander to the park, alone,
pausing to watch a cricket match.
I bend to sit upon a bench,
and fall through its rotted slats."

Lol, touche, I voted remain but there's little doubt in my mind the EU is very peeved we are leaving, mind you those cartoons ARE pretty accurate. The trouble was a preponderance of old coots not thinking about the younger generation who will have to live with the consequences of leaving their voting was shortsighted and selfish.

I'm not sure that's entirely fair Vera the vote was very close and many say were there to be a repeat vote the leave side would now probably lose. But I absolutely stand by my assertion that the EU is majorly pissed and throwing its toys out of the pram and that they do want to punish Britain for its decision to leave, Junkers comments a few weeks ago on bbc news confirmed that for me.

Yeah, deciding the future of a whole country and all its young people whose lives are just beginning and will have to bear the brunt of the older folk xenophobia and ignorance, is exactly this: a pissing, let's-see-who-can-annoy-the-other-more, children-fighting-in-a-sandbox contest.

Though if *this* is how British see it, it does explain a lot.

And here we have an image of some "young people" in London expressing their reassuring concerns for their future—unfortunately clouded by us oldies—by burning a few cars and looting shops. It's heartwarming to see the younger generation demonstrating their optimism for the state of the world they'll grow old in—unfettered by the quaint old-fashioned notions of law and order, and a productive, empathetic, all-encompassing society established by the so-called baby-boomers.

As a side note, it's somewhat concerning to me, at the least, that kids like these could well be looking after me in my dotage, or at the worst, be elected as future politicians, economists, or military strategists.
