I get impressed when people have read books.
I come across so few of them these days.

But for reals the book is usually better. Unless you can distinguish the two as completely different entities which is hard after so much time has been invested reason the original.

I usually go in telling myself they will have to make concessions for te change in format. That way I can appreciate the movie for what it is.

Sometimes I am sorely disappointed in changes because they make no sense in any way.

Like the lord of the rings movies. Really just one thing bugged me.

Going all the way back to faramirs home. I made no sense. Wasn't in the book. And would have made Sam and frodo not make it to the top of mount doom in time. So I hate them now.

But then there's something like blade runner. I love the movie. It's great. I like the book and prefer the books title. Otherwise I prefer the movie. It's better.
