Ok I'll shut up now.

Nothing wrong with a BS. Especially if you had a senior thesis to accompany it.

After all, all PhD's start off with BS degrees.

I’m not a scientist, but I play one in real life Big Grin

I am what I would call a Citizen Scientist with a degree in Observational Facilitation.

(I take the scientists and students out and show them what they are looking for because I know more from being out in the field than these poor, wretched souls stuck behind a desk. I pity and envy them at the same time.)

“I am quite sure now that often, very often, in matters concerning religion and politics a man’s reasoning powers are not above the monkey’s.”~Mark Twain
“Ocean: A body of water occupying about two-thirds of a world made for man - who has no gills.”~ Ambrose Bierce

There is a delicate balance we play in geology between getting students field experience and managing our own sanity.

Just what the world needs, another Dr. Dirt.

Kidding, congrats!

Check out my now-defunct atheism blog. It's just a blog, no ads, no revenue, no gods.

I am no dirty soil scientist. I work on fully lithified sediments, aka; rocks!

A Geologist eh? Did you ever read the works if one Dr. Kent Hovind? He is really influential and highly respected. Thumbsup

The very idea of God is a product of the human imagination."

If only you knew where to find one?

I would like to echo the sentiments of everybody else and say; "Congratulations!" Another officially recognised smart person is rarely a bad thing.

Soulless mutants of muscle and intent. There are billions of us; hardy, smart and dangerous. Shaped by millions of years of death. We are the definitive alpha predator. We build monsters of fire and stone. We bottled the sun. We nailed our god to a stick.

In man's struggle against the world, bet on the man.

You sure you don't work with Scotch on the rocks?

Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors.... on Donald J. Trump:

He is deformed, crooked, old, and sere,
Ill-fac’d, worse bodied, shapeless every where;
Vicious, ungentle, foolish, blunt, unkind,
Stigmatical in making, worse in mind.

@OrganicChemist
We all know Hovind is the most honest among us. It is a global conspiracy to ignore him

As for those following the OrganicChemist, I'll post pdfs as I have the final copies available to demonstrate my inaptitude.

It hasn't been the easiest past few months but I can also look forward to an eventual release of my first publication as a first author and another co-authored publication.

Today, I feel like a real scientist.

And I have nearly had an entire bottle of crown royal in celebration. So I apologize for my grammar!
As far as I'm concerned anyone who understands the scientific method and does not buy into creationist crap is a scientist.Thumbsup
