I hate parades
I used to live in South Pasadena and the Rose Parade was right down the street. We walked down to see it once. It smelled great! but if we hadn't lived so close there's no way I'd have gone to see it. I mean it's tolerable, as parades go but most of them are just plane stupid.

Does anyone actually like parades?

Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors.... on Donald J. Trump:

He is deformed, crooked, old, and sere,
Ill-fac’d, worse bodied, shapeless every where;
Vicious, ungentle, foolish, blunt, unkind,
Stigmatical in making, worse in mind.

Is that today?

But as if to knock me down, reality came around
And without so much as a mere touch, cut me into little pieces

I just ended on TV. When we lived in South Pasadena we'd hear the sound of the Goodyear Blimp buzzing around overhead at about 6 in the morning and then three or four helicopters would show up and tons of cars would park in front of our apartment complex and thousands of people were everywhere.

We'd just hid out for the day but one year we went to see it. Zsa Zsa Gabor was on one of the floats and people booed her because she had slapped a cop a few months earlier and gotten away with it. It was the best part of the parade. Laugh out load

I used to watch them, but this year...Macy's on Thanksgiving...didn't happen, but at least I remembered it was on.

I completely forgot about the tournament of roses. Totally...

Which is totally odd since I always enjoyed much more.

I love parades in person, not so much on TV.

They show reruns of the Rose Parade later I think. The smell of the flowers and herbs is amazing. It wafts along the parade route, especially all the roses. After it's over one can go and check the floats out in a giant warehouse and a few days later they let people come and take the flowers and plants off the floats to make pomades and dry the flowers and stuff. It's the only parade that I find tolerable.

Whenever I think of a parade, I mentally hear a marching band with a slightly dissonant brass section. I get enough of that sitting in front of the trumpet section at band practice -- and their tuning is much, much better than what I usually hear at a parade. So no, I'm not a fan.

Isn't it rather difficult to march and play music at the same time? And sometimes they do a little dancy step. I don't know how they make any sort of music at all.

This isn't a parade but still funny!
