Funny you should mention physical co workers. I quit my last job not just because of one co worker, but two. There were other factors, such as not getting sleep, and upkeep of my house, but those were the biggest factors. One guy was constantly impatient and berated me for not moving fast enough. But the other guy not only shouted at me and berated me, I physically feared him. He was the type of guy if you said "lets step outside" he would. He too forcefully grabbed things from me and shoved me on occasion.

I don't have any advice other than if the stress is that bad, you really should consider looking for another job. I wish there were more worker's rights in America and unions, EOE would be your only other option unless you can afford a lawyer and want to stay there.

I wouldn't put up with either physical or emotional abuse. You cant tell the boss whom to fire unfortunately, you can only do things to relieve your own stress. The irony with my last job, is that although it got slam busy, most of the workers were a joy to work with. But I had to quite for my sanity and my safety.

^This^ and be sure to use the words "hostile work environment." If your manager knows anything about business--those words will get her full attention.

Yes and I love working with the people at my job, they're a joy to work with and I don't want this one bad seed to ruin everything. Luckily she has not lowered herself to physical violence with me, if she did that I would immediately go to HR.

I'm caught between whether or not I should say something or just keep my nose out of it. My better sense is telling me to just let it go and mind my own business, but I also feel like it's unfair for everyone to have to work with someone so hostile and emotionally and possibly mentally unstable.

You need to go to HR now. I can't believe that asshole hasn't been fired.

At one of my first jobs I worked with this girl that came in about a year after I started worked their. It was a Reebok show Outlet. She was getting paid $2.00 more then anyone that worked there even the lifers. And she enjoyed braging about it. She used the companies for for personal calls. (This was in the late 90's also so no cells) Her friends would come over to hang out, so she would spend most of the day out side on a smoke brake and I would be left inside running the store. Cashiering, customer serious clean up. She would even take an extra half hour on her brakes. But when it would come time for bonuses or work credit she would get it all. I even confronted her on her laziness and disrespect to me and the rest of the employees. This didn't end well for me. Especially when they started highering herI found out years later she was sleeping with one of the managers. Which would explain why she was so well protected.

At my job our issues is with our manager. No one can figure out what he dose. He takes credit for other's peoples ideas and work. And seems inept at just about everything. (I work for a engineering department at a casino)

It's funny you say that, because the manager that she CONSTANTLY yells at...her and him used to actually be pretty cool. She would follow him around everywhere, they had inside jokes, she would even get a lot of hours because they were so 'close'. Now, not so much. So I don't know if that could have anything to do with it...but it is interesting you brought that up.

I know, I'm just trying to think out my whole plan. I don't want to go to HR and then everything backfires on me.

It really is creating a hostile environment, and it spreads like the plague. I really do hope something is done about this soon, before someone is forced to go to HR.

Forget HR. That can backfire on you as soon as they talk to the co-worker. If they aren't willing to fire her, you're going to possibly make things worse. Instead, you should take some MMA training and learn how to choke someone out. Could come in hand after work some evening... Big Grin

It was just a fucking apple man, we're sorry okay? Please stop the madness Laugh out load
