That sounds like the way forward. "Brain-fog" was a major symptom of my late wife's neuroimmune illness and a neurologist can really quantify what is going on by giving you cognitive function and memory tests. Her original disability was awarded because she saw neurologists at various stages of the disease and they could document a drop in IQ over the years. Later, they could document short-term memory issues as well.

Knowing what is going on helps even if there is no effective treatment ... but there may well be things that can be done to help as well. A neurologist is the ticket ... and don't settle for someone who is incurious or bored by your case or otherwise disengaged, either.

Yeah it's the only way. Doctors can't specialise in everything.
