RE: I have survived toughest year. Still in danger, but still alive.
Thanks Jen.

Here is the text exchange between the bass player and I.

BP: My drummer can't make it. Can you cover?

DC: Dunno to be honest, but I can try. I will bring some small percussion just in case.

BP: You can bring whatever, I'll bring my kit and pick you up. Are you sure you're up to it?

DC: Just bring a small kit.

BP: Cool, will tell the other guys.

DC: Ok great. Looking forward to it. I should be ok. I'll practice my arse off!

BP: Ha ha, take it easy mate. There's no pressure. We'll just have some fun.

DC: I wanna be good.

BP: You're already good.

DC: Have not played in a year. BTW am back in hospital in September.

BP: Don't worry. We'll make sure you have a good hit before you go back.

DC: Thanks. I got in 4 hours on the pad (this was way earlier today, I ended up doing over 9 hours) Went through the entire Stick control book. Tomorrow will work through the Philly Joe solo book.

BP: Take it easy!

I am still worried though. He's very nice and I worked with him over a year as both drummer and percussionist. He was taking lessons from me but I had to send him to my student, Jeff. Who is a great drummer.

I will call him a liar and a dog here and now.

You'll do great. We're all thinking about you and hugging you from afar.

You must feel like a human pin cushion. No

He is deformed, crooked, old, and sere,
Ill-fac’d, worse bodied, shapeless every where;
Vicious, ungentle, foolish, blunt, unkind,
Stigmatical in making, worse in mind.

Thanks Jenny.

No rehearsal. All charts.

I must remember to drink loads of water to keep my blood pressure up. The last thing I need is to collapse off my drum stool. I collapsed last time I was in hospital. Huh

I once had a stage break under the weight of my kit. Fell right through the stage. I remember watching everybody stop dancing as I disappeared through the floor. And then the band all looking down through the floor. It was during my first ever tour. Bloody funny. But it did hurt.

Dances, they seem only to use that one vein on my right arm. I'm used to it but the vein is getting tired and scared. A cop is gonna think I am a junkie. Big Grin

Now there's a bloody kookaburra going off his head at 2.22 am, and now the other birds have joined in! WTH is going on??? In the trees just outside my flat. There must be a cat or something. Kookaburras are pretty aggressive though. Ha they've woken the poor sod upstairs. He's walking around like the Hulk. "Clomp clomp clomp"

Your post reminded me of the Kookaburra song. We used to sing it all the time in Brownies. Smile
