I'm a godfather now
One of my good friends told me today that he wanted me to be the godfather of his new daughter. I consider it a huge honor. What's funny is that he is a hardcore atheist like myself. His wife is a not-so-religious Catholic. I'm pretty sure there is a ceremony that has to take place, but it's not going to happen anytime soon since they are currently stationed in Germany. Don't worry, I whipped out my best Vito Corleone impression when he asked.

There are certain requirements for you to be a godfather in the Catholic Church if I remember correctly. One of them is that you have to be an active member.

Ha! Like that's ever going to happen. I'm guessing this is more of a legal thing than a religious thing. They know I helped raise my niece and nephew, so they know I would be able to care for their daughter if anything were to happen to them.

How about you make them a deal they can't refuse?

Sure. Now if I can only find a hacksaw and a horse that is tired of having a head.

Check with those frozen lasagna people, they might have some. Consider

Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.
