RE: I'm sorry y'all.
How was the meeting. Seem like a decent group?

So many cats, so few good recipes.

Why meetings all of a sudden? Is it that bad? If it's just about one hangover, it will pass, to go to a meeting would suggest you have a deeper connection to the bottle(s).

I'm sorry. I know you aren't the ones I should say that to but I am. I'm sorry for being unable to control myself.
Ooh! Ooh! Can we be your higher power?

Seriously, no need for apologies. Ya' know, a good portion of us here have either walked in your shoes or have loved someone who has. We're here for ya'. I'm really glad to hear you're doing right for yourself. Lookee here, at this here poem:

The Guy in the Glass by Dale Wimbrow, © 1934

"When you get what you want in your struggle for pelf
And the world makes you King for a day
Then go to the mirror and look at yourself
And see what that guy has to say.

For it isn't your Father, or Mother, or Wife
Who judgement upon you must pass.
The feller whose verdict counts most in your life
Is the guy staring back from the glass.

He's the feller to please, never mind all the rest
For he's with you clear up to the end
And you've passed your most dangerous, difficult test
If the guy in the glass is your friend.

You may be like Jack Horner and "chisel" a plum
And think you're a wonderful guy
But the man in the glass says you're only a bum
If you can't look him straight in the eye.

You can fool the whole world down the pathway of years
And get pats on the back as you pass
But your final reward will be heartaches and tears
If you've cheated the guy in the glass."

It's a new day. You are loved.

Well... from one experienced drunk to the other... you already know the source of most of yer problems.. You already know the answer to the problems between you and your wife... you already know the source of most of your current problems with everything else.. just connect the dots.. they all lead back to that damned bottle. Your smart .. nothing to deny or pretend or lie about.. so go fix it or lose the things you love.

I only wish I knew that before I lost the things I loved.. that's all I'll say about it. Good luck.
