Every 6 hours. 8 in a day.

You know that's a maximum, right? You can take fewer. Dodgy

It's a barbiturate, dude. "Barbiturates are drugs that act as central nervous system depressants, and can therefore produce a wide spectrum of effects, from mild sedation to total anesthesia."

You also don't want to exceed the max because it's mostly acetaminophan - too much will fuck up your liver. Permanently.

KC please be careful with this stuff.

Keep in mind, this is coming from someone with an appreciation for Pink Floyd, blacklights and in the day, certain mind altering substances. Drinking Beverage

Best case scenario - I don't have headaches
Worst case scenario - I don't have headaches

win-win

A completely messed up liver will regenerate to 100% in 30 days if no acetaminophen or harmful things are filtered through it. The liver is a a cool organ.

I just hope you were joking about increasing the dosage.

I just took 3.

I really, really, really hope you are joking.

Because if you aren't, that was a pretty stupid thing to do.

I don't think you fully understand the gravity of my pain or the debilitation of my headaches.

RE: I'm still drunk
That little break I just took in the forum... you know when I was missing? It was because I was in and out of the hospital and after hour clinics dealing with the pain I was going through.

Trust me, I understand the pain you're going through. I understand intimately.

That being said, you do need to be careful with that stuff. Just because they're referred to as "suicide headaches" doesn't mean you should actually commit suicide by ODing on painkillers or getting into a wreck.

Excuse me, I'm making perfect sense. You're just not keeping up.

Yabut, only if you survive and it doesn't fuck up your kidneys.

medscape Wrote:The clinical course of acetaminophen toxicity generally is divided into 4 phases. Physical findings vary, depending primarily on the level of hepatotoxicity.

Phase 1

0.5-24 hours after ingestion
Patients may be asymptomatic or report anorexia, nausea or vomiting, and malaise
Physical examination may reveal pallor, diaphoresis, malaise, and fatigue

Phase 2

18-72 h after ingestion
Patients generally develop right upper quadrant abdominal pain, anorexia, nausea, and vomiting
Right upper quadrant tenderness may be present
Tachycardia and hypotension indicate ongoing volume losses
Some patients may report decreased urinary output (oliguria)

Phase 3: Hepatic phase

72-96 h after ingestion
Patients may have continued nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, and a tender hepatic edge
Hepatic necrosis and dysfunction are associated with jaundice, coagulopathy, hypoglycemia, and hepatic encephalopathy
Acute renal failure develops in some critically ill patients
Death from multiorgan failure may occur

Phase 4: Recovery phase

4 d to 3 wk after ingestion
Patients who survive critical illness in phase 3 have complete resolution of symptoms and complete resolution of organ failure

If you are still at work, you'd better get a ride home.

I'm sorry to hear that. I am quite familiar with chronic pain (like, 35 years of experience) and it can affect you in many ways, besides just fuckin' hurting.

I was fortunate enough to have doctors who knew how to treat it safely.
