RE: I need a new TV series to get addicted too!
For anyone who isn't watching, I'd recommend Almost Human and True Detective.

Almost Human is a futuristic buddy-cop drama with fun characters and injected humor. It has a Joss Whedon/USA–"characters welcome" kind of feel to it.

True Detective is an HBO crime drama that bounces between the modern day interviews of the detectives, and the 17-year old investigation.

Stuff I've enjoyed:

- Breaking bad (awesome)
- Walking dead (awesome)
- Firefly (good)
- Battlestar Gallactica (good)
- Terminator - the Sarah Conner chronicles (good)
(should be obvious I love scifi and apocalyptic crap)
- Eureka (good)
- Warehouse 13 (good)
- Roswell is ok but moves slow and has trouble finding its way (mediocre)
- Sherlock (good)
- Defiance (average)
- Under the Dome (amazon original) (good)
- The After (amazon original) looks like it might be good/awesome, if they decide to do more than a pilot. (pilot looks awesome)
- American Horror Story (..I'm not a horror fan, but this has my attention)
- Falling Skies (average)
- Jericho (average)
- Vikings (good)
- Started watching Torchwood, cut couldn't take the excessive gayness. If you're gay, you'll probably like it.
- Hemlock Grove (mediocre)

...also not really a fan of comedy, but these make the grade, though all a bit older

- Doc Martin
- The Office
- Weeds

Softly, softly, catchee monkey.

Netfllix seems to think I'd like it. Was it really good?

I've seen 3 of them, and probably won't watch any more. Weeds was good, though, if you haven't seen that one.

The only thing that disappointed me about it was how it doesn't focus merely on Norman and his obsessively-clingy mom; it has a whole bunch of other characters with their own little subplots. I guess they have to do that since it's a TV series, and it all contributes to creating the nut-case that is Norman Bates in the end, but I was expecting them to focus mostly on the two of them almost exclusively.

Good show, though. It'd be a short-lived addiction, however, because season 2 has yet to premier.

Show is great, I just wish they didn't have ADD when it came to romantic partners for Norman. They just don't write it well at all.

EDIT: SPOILERS

I kind of thought that too, but then I realized that his love interests coming and going are building him into the woman-killing psycho that he will ultimately be. His loves and disappointments are contrasted by his ever-present and loving mother, which will fuel his obsession with her. He loves a dog, but it gets killed. He loves a girl, but she rejects him. A teacher wants him, but he kills her. But after all that, Mother is still there with open arms.

That combined with the incestuous undertones that seem to be building makes me think that the erratic and seemingly-poor writing of his love interests is actually necessary to mold him into the man he'll eventually be.

Through profound pain comes profound knowledge.

Between House of Cards on Netflix and GoT on Pirate TV, IDK...

Oh, and as a felon, Orange is the new Black can suck my hog. That is all.

I must say I love House of Cards. Kevin Spacy is wonderful in it.

Wind's in the east, a mist coming in
Like something is brewing and about to begin
Can't put my finger on what lies in store
but I feel what's to happen has happened before...

Dr. Who - I love all the atheist sub-messages and the fact that most of my friends who love the show are fundamental christians...
But, I know from experience that when you are believing lies it is hard to spot truth.
I also enjoy Drop Dead Diva and Arrested Development
