I've got your dichotomy...

Things are only true or false outside of time. The way I see it is that the active philosophy runs along a fractal edge, and I can never be perpetually content by just stating, for instance, god either exists or god does not exist.

I do not understand why it took you so long to realise this.

It didn't. Took me so long to create a meme-thingy. Big Grin

I
1) The hidden assumption is that I represents a philosopher.
2) The other way preaches, and I got the inner prophet all subdued and shit.
3) The other way would be less true as I call myself atheist, which is a contentment in my philosophy.

It helps if you read HoC's posts in the voice of a Colonel Kurtz monologue. For me anyway... Drinking Beverage

But now I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.

Dodgy

Big Grin

Philosophy is often presented as time invariant; one of its virtues, yeah? Yet such oft leave me unsatisfied. Like when I was standing on a corner in Phoenix Arizona and I turn to a fellow resident and go, "Phoenix is fulla liars, yeah?"

And he's like, "yeah."

Yet with the passage of time and thought, conflict, contradiction, paradox. Undecided

We wanna believe true is true to accurately predict the future, out survival depends upon it. So there's no traffic and you ask me, is it safe to cross the street?

Yeah, I go.

Wham! Meteor. Prolly should have clarified, no, it is never safe; however, we wouldn't get anywhere. Damn Gwynnies. Big Grin

Pretty picture. Sorry what does this have to do with theism? lol

Is the "factal's edge" a metaphor for how we can never truly know anything 100%? With every new discovery, new questions will pop up.

If we came from dust, then why is there still dust?
