Sounds like someone driving a boat through a lake of beer and alcohol.

What rational mind comes up with the idea of sticking a dead guy in a box - and burying it in the ground.

What do they think they're going to fucking do -- sprout?????

...

True--but I have to say I do like the idea of irish wakes. We have done that for a few of my relatives.

True -- enough alcohol in you, and you're likely to believe most anything......

Even religion....

Then you sober up....

heh

I remember when I went through the confirmation thing. It just seemed silly that the bishop felt the need to smear oil over the heads of a bunch of young teens. I remember it had the scent of cinnamon. In hindsight, I am glad that is all he seemed interested in.

I gave no problem with sending someone off with a celebration of their life. But it seems that religious dogma requires mourning one's own life while being excited about what goes on after death. It's so backward.

A new type of thinking is essential if mankind is to survive and move to higher levels. ~ Albert Einstein

They should have played John Lennon's "Imagine."

I've heard it done, but they change the line to "and one religion, too." Angry

I've been to church a few times since leaving Christianity, and since coming to a position of atheism. It wasn't a bad feeling necessarily, just felt like an emptiness. Like I was at an odd motivational seminar or something. lol

Glad it worked out for you, Turkeyburner.

Oh, so now the Christians are trying to hop on the Beatlemania bandwagon. Too late Christians!
