I've never grown them...but I've tasted them. Does that count?

Sure. Normally you can only get to taste them if you've grown them. Definitely one of the nicest potatoes, unless you try roasting them.

Kind of a nice change to the cheese theme...recipes anyone?

See here they are the bruises some were self-inflicted and some showed up along the way. - JF

Well the best thing about potatoes is what they grow in. If you compost all your kitchen waste over the course of a year and then let it degrade down, you end up with muck that is indistinguishable from manure. It's too rich to grow on plants, except perhaps to use as a mulch. But potatoes will grow in it and grow really huge. They then break it down even further into the loveliest compost in which you can grow other fruit and veg.

No wonder you can live on the damn things.

Some day if I get heavy, it's gonna be because of baked potatoes with every possible topping. Yum. Rolleyes ("oh, is that MY pint of sour cream ? ... get your own" Weeping )

I really don't recall how they were prepared. We were at a brewer's dinner. They were served alongside beef cheeks braised in beer.

I remember because I thought it was odd to see them on the course menu...apples?!

Then when the plate came...I was like oooooh it's a potato.

It was really yummy. Wonderful waxy texture -- with a strong potato-y taste that was at the same time more delicate than the traditional fingerling.

But as if to knock me down, reality came around
And without so much as a mere touch, cut me into little pieces

I was thinking more of the congregation/leity.

I think you'll find that popes and priests have always been encouraged to fuck everyone, both literally and metaphorically. After all, that's a legacy role they inherited from the system of Roman government.
