RE: If God were real what was (his/her/it's) reason for creating existence
How does a god that "exists" create the very Reality in which it is required to participate ? (Hint: your question is meaningless. Examine your assumptions. )

I was gonna go the "deep contemplation" route, but I had a coupon for 1/2 off the "mediocre-bland contemplation" special. Weeping

Give me your argument in the form of a published paper, and then we can start to talk.

Why? Because after waiting around for literally infinity years, all by himself, God decided he wanted something else to exist.

Seriously, all discussions of purpose and intent aside; for someone to believe in an eternal creator god who created everything, they tautologically have to accept that God sat around by himself for infinity years before anything else was created. Why he chose to create stuff then and not ten trillion years sooner or later is rather pointless, because any time he picked to start creating stuff would have been preceded by infinity years of nothing but him.

The concept of eternal creator gods is preposterous. I wouldn't worry too much about why such a god would create us.

RE: If God were real what was (his/her/it's) reason for creating existence
If there is a creator, it doesn't follow that it's in any way all powerful. It could just be a guy in another reality, who makes micro-realities for fun. Adding all these attributes to him is just the storytelling of stupid religion.

So if there is a creator, most likely he made this place just to see what would happen from the initial conditions. That's my opinion.

Of course there is no good reason to think there is such a creator.

I have a website here which discusses the issues and terminology surrounding religion and atheism. It's hopefully user friendly to all.

A creator which "acts" (in any way *changes* ie makes a decision to act) has neither an infinite past nor infinite future. The action is an end-point/starting-point. It's all bullshit. Religionists try to have their cake and eat it too. "God sent his son ... bla bla bla ..." And at the same time try to assert the very same deity "exists apart from space-time", even while using nothing but temporal references. Buncha crap. Facepalm Tongue

Thank you. YOU used reason to make a statement about your god, saying you cannot do the VERY thing you ARE doing, then affirmed it again.

God job !!Facepalm
