I'll say it again, can you explain what you trying to get across here? Why is this video relevant? What is its message?

What he said.

Yeah, well, I watched it.

You guys are soooo lazy. Rolleyes

Anyway tl;dr version:
Jesus depicted (by an atheist preacher-man with some panache and pizzazz) as a socialist revolutionary.

"I came not to bring peace, but to bring a sword"

That's the Jesus I like.

And lots of stuff about how the Romans became christian as a continuance of Empire. And that this motif is why ex-slave African-Americans are twats for still going to church.

Which we all knew anyway.

Thumbsup

Here's a random one hour long video that's of utmost importance. Skip whatever plans you may have had and watch it.

Grumpy newcomer commands it. Dodgy

See here they are the bruises some were self-inflicted and some showed up along the way. - JF

Constantine coopted the Christian movement, hence Christianity became the religion of the oppressor rather than the oppressed. It's in the vid.

RE: If Jesus Was A Revolutionary...
I have always thought of Jesus, if he existed at all, as a revolutionary. Like many revolutions, the one Jesus aimed to lead was a failure. I don't dispute the assertion that Christianity, like other successful religions, has proved to be an effective instrument of social control by adapting its doctrines and "facts" to the needs of the powerful.

What I don't understand is the point of the post. I don't give a fuck about whether Christianity's understanding of Jesus has been perverted, or diverted, from Jesus's original "message," because it's still all a load of bullshit.

And it seems to me that the point of this post is to try to sell me bullshit shit by grass-fed bulls instead of bullshit shit by grain-fed bulls, ignoring the fact that I'm not in the market for bullshit of any kind.

Pro tip: This forum is full of trolls. Most of us are regulars. Evil_monster

Don't want to be trolled, be clear and concise and use your own damn words. Wink

As for myself, I enjoy being trolled. If nothing else, Gwynnite is a religion of laughter. Laugh out load

I don't get any kind of minority involvement in Christianity. It's not about what it was but rather what it is, and what it is es no bueno.

*DLJ and I Rolleyes

I'm sitting in a 5-star hotel room in Singapore transferring files I need for class tomorrow* onto my new laptop while eating perfect Hainanese Chicken rice** and waiting for my favourite concubine to arrive.

* My first paid work for 6 months.
** with Pandan and Ginger flavoured rice; local veg; Chicken soup; Chilli, Minced Scallion-ginger and Dark soy sauce.
Oh and tiramisu.
And my first solid food for 5 days.

Ahhh! The life of the pretty petty bourgeoisie ... not so bad.

What's your excuse, prophet-boy?
