If Jesus had his second coming soon...
I just watched EdwardCurrant, now don't try to understand how I go to this thought because it was a video with his cat playing e-piano Undecided

But my thought was
What if Jesus had his second coming?
How would people react.
If you are thinking about it, it is most likely that he would be put into a mental hospital.
Why?
A LOT of people say they are Jesus and noone believes them.
If you say you are Jesus you will most likely be declared mental, too.
If your friend told you "Listen, you know me, well, what if I told you, I am Jesus, I am back!" .... most likely you wouldn't believe.

I have a ton of scenes like that in my mind, but all the street corner preachers and crazy people on this planet make it difficult for a second coming of christ.
Not even if it was a wonder completely public in a crowed place where 1000 people can see it... Most people would be like, "ok, where are the cameras, show me that trick"

What are your thoughts on this?

And I go down to speaker's corner, I'm a thunderstruck
They got free speech, tourists, police in trucks
Two men say they're Jesus, one of them must be wrong
There's a protest singer, he's singing a protest song, he says

They wanna have a war to keep their factories
They wanna have a war to keep us on our knees
They wanna have a war to stop us buying Japanese
They wanna have a war to stop industrial disease

They're pointing out the enemy to keep you deaf and blind
They wanna sap your energy, incarcerate your mind
Give you Rule Brittania, gassy beer, page three
Two weeks in Espania and Sunday striptease

Meanwhile the first Jesus says, "I'll cure it soon
Abolish Monday mornings and Friday afternoons"
The other one's out on hunger strike, he's dying by degrees
How come Jesus gets industrial disease?

Well isn't there someone who claims to be Jesus who appeared in Bill Maher's "Religulous"? He's lots of followers.

Found him.

I think he would make it obvious enough so that most people would believe him. Obviously no matter what he does there would still be people who doubt him.

RE: If Jesus had his second coming soon...
Quote:A COUPLE who say they are Jesus Christ and Mary Magdalene have set up base in Queensland's Bible Belt.

The pair, real names Alan John Miller, who once lived in Loxton in South Australia's Riverland, and Mary Suzanne Luck, operate from rural Wilkesdale near Kingaroy, where they have been joined by an increasing band of followers.

"My name is Jesus, and I'm serious," Miller said in a video recording from one workshop.

Cult watchers and the Anglican and Catholic churches are alarmed the pair, who ask followers to make donations to sustain them, could draw in the vulnerable.

Miller bought a 16ha property at Wilkesdale in 2007 and his Divine Truth followers have since been buying nearby blocks to be close to the charismatic leader, 47, and alluring Luck, 32.

Locals and real estate agents confirmed the group had sparked an unlikely property boom, with estimates they have bought up to 30 blocks and with new properties in high demand.

Followers joined forces in 2009 to buy a $400,000, 240ha property where they hold weekly meetings and plan to build a centre catering for international visitors.

In a bizarre coincidence, land clearing has created a giant cross on neighbouring properties that can be seen from space using Google Maps. Local residents insisted it was not carved deliberately.

Police are said to have been called to investigate screams in the area, only to discover members taking part in a healing exercise where they shout to help process "past soul damage" and ill feelings.

Some residents complain they are being driven out of the quiet hamlet by the group, which resembles Debra Geileskey's Magnificat Meal Movement that drew scores of followers to Helidon near Toowoomba.

Queensland has a tradition of fostering fringe religious movements. Fugitive killer Luke Andrew Hunter was recaptured in February after 15 years on the run in which he hid out with the separate Jesus Group in the state's far north.

Concerned relatives and friends have been contacting the Cult Awareness and Information Centre to warn of Divine Truth followers selling family homes to move to Wilkesdale.

Centre spokeswoman Helen Pomery said: "The moment someone becomes God or God's voice on Earth it gives them another level of authority to enforce submission to them."

Anglican Archbishop Dr Phillip Aspinall and the Catholic church, unaware of the group until contacted by the Sunday Mail, urged people to be cautious when exploring new movements.

"This is especially true for people who are seeking meaning in their lives and, as a result, may be vulnerable," Dr Aspinall said.

Mr Miller was born in Loxton and has two children from a previous marriage, which he says ended after he "began to remember details" of his past life.

Tailoring his appearance to look like Jesus, he yesterday held a workshop in Albury, New South Wales, where he stood by his claims and said at least "30 or 40" people had bought blocks around Wilkesdale.

"Mary and myself haven't ever encouraged people to move out there. Some of the people we don't even know," he said.

In one recording he said: "There's probably a million people who say they're Jesus and most of them are in asylums. But one of us has to be. How do I know I am? Because I remember everything about my life."

“Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect.”

RE: If Jesus had his second coming soon...
On a serious note, if he came back he'd freak out! All the crosses at the top of his buildings. Poor guys was traumatized enough the first time by being nailed to one...do you think he wants to see them on his buildings or on necklaces of his followers?

Apart from that being a graven image n all..............

He'd probably look for his tricorder immediately and insist on being beamed back up.

RE: If Jesus had his second coming soon...
Ok, just to get this straight, you want us to consider how people would react to a fairy tale character coming to life on the streets and proclaiming that he was indeed that fairy tale character.

Ok, I'll bite.
But do you mind if I also add in some characters from Lord of the Rings too, because if Jesus is going to exist he's going to need some security guards to keep him safe in his journeys.
My next question would be. Is this jesus purely human or is he the guy who people would line up to see by the millions to get divine healing ?
Is he the guy that people would throw beer bottles at when the Cubs lost another baseball game ?
Perhaps he is the jesus that you would find in the strip clubs, drunk off his ass on all the wine and picking up hookers off the street so that he can show them his healing touch ?

If fairy tale jesus was alive for real, I would suspect that he would probably be branded a terrorist and killed by a Christian sniper.

Insanity - doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results

RE: If Jesus had his second coming soon...
We had a discussion about this at work recently. My co-worker speculates that Tim Tebow is Jesus and he'll reveal himself during the SuperBowl as the returned Christ. What better venue to reveal yourself? Practically the whole world will be watching!

It was just a fucking apple man, we're sorry okay? Please stop the madness Laugh out load
