RE: If Trump gets elected, what country should I move to?
I really like Kiwis. New Zealanders are fine people. But I'd not live there. Too small.

Australia is not as dangerous as people make out. Sure, I've had a close call with a huge shark, snakes, deadly spiders etc. However I am still here. The girls are gorgeous as well. Summer sees them dressed lightly. They can be tough and hard to live with. But so are the males. Americans are popular here and we have cities that are decent sizes.

We have an incredible coastline with some of the greatest beaches on earth. The center is a bit dry. Well, a desert actually. We speak English so the language barrier doesn't exist.

Also there are many rain forests and sport is a constant.

We have some nice beers and wines and many great restaurants.

The population is multi cultural and most get along okay.

We currently have a right wing government but it is nothing like the GOP.

Sensible gun laws.

The place is pretty liveable. Some areas are very hot, even down south. Tasmania is very English like. A bit cold but very lush and green.

The green bits of the country are around the coast, with the middle flat and dry.

Of course being so far away, we are not as up to speed with certain appliances. I once too a Japanese GF out to buy a rice cooker and when she saw the collection she burst out laughing saying those rice cookers have not been seen in Japan for 15 years.

Nevertheless south east Asia is close by and holidaying is easy. My brother recently bought two return ticked to Thailand from Sydney return for $300.00 AUD.

New Zealand is just a few hour flight away, and they have good wine as well.

We also share no borders so we are quite immune to many issues facing those sharing continents. Hell this is a continent.

Australia is a pretty decent place. Although you may get called "A bloody Yank!".

When men have an issue it is likely to be a punch up and not a shoot out. But that is a non issue really.

The music scene sucks, although I hear Melbourne is still quite good.

Canada also sounds good but would be too cold for me.

Cold is my favorite part of Canada Smile Then again I spent a big chunk of my childhood in Alaska.

(in my best Bubba voice) I love show shoeing, downhill snow skiing, cross country snow skiing, snow sledding, snow camping, making snow shelters, snowball fights, making maple taffy on snow, snowmobiling, ice climbing... in the snow, making snow men, campfires in the snow...

That's about it.

I like strolling along country roads with my baby, walking hand in hand with the one I love, laughter in the rain, sharing our love under stormy skies, rainy days and the happy way I feel inside.

oh. And tap dancing. I like tap dancing.

I have had passing fantasies of leaving the country if it takes too sharp a left turn into batshit nuttery, but I'm 59, my mortgage and car are paid off and I figure I can probably put up with anything for another 10 years or so. But If I were younger, knowing what I know now ... I would already be in the Nordic regions exploring which of them I like the best. Probably would end up in either Denmark or Norway. Much more egalitarian, much higher levels of trust, heavy taxes but you get something in exchange for it. Probably is worth enduring the winters. And yeah, I have thought of Samoa or someplace remote, too ... it's just that the crappy Internet access and lack of things to do would get to me before very long.

When I was young Canada was the refuge of choice for those who weren't into going to Vietnam and killing people. Lot of friends went there. Could well be another migration in another year if the public actually elect the nut.

Crazy is on the right as far as I can tell. Overly xian and overly violent.

There were actually more Canadians immigrating to America to join the military in hope of seeing some action in Vietnam (they knew experiencing combat was unlikely in the Canadian Forces at the time) than there were Americans going to Canada to avoid the draft, before anyone automatically assumes crazy people like me only come from America Tongue
