Never mind. I took the wrong test.

Leela's thread regarding inability to empathise (unless having had a similar experience) got me thinking.

Would those who have confessed to being INTJs also confess to (or have been accused of) lack of empathy?

I'm certainly guilty of being emotionally-detached which, btw, I have no problem with cos it's very useful for my job.

Thoughts?

OK, I'll admit to being somewhat aloof and lacking in empathy. I have made an effort to be more empathetic. My wife is pretty good at letting me know when I'm being too detached and calculating with others. If she takes this test she'll probably be the opposite if me. Drinking Beverage

Hey Kid,

So did opposites attract?

That's another angle... spouse same or opposite?

I guess opposites did attract in the case of my wife and I. She is very outgoing and empathetic much more so than I am. Somehow it all works out. She seems to get energy from being with people and it tends to drain me.

Well I'm probably not the best example since im only by 1% a T and by 1% a J
I wouldn't say I'm generally less empathetic, since I get to hear the opposite a lot.
But I use emotional-detachment (overanalysation) as a safeguard if it's too much for my psyche.

Introvert(89%) iNtuitive(50%) iNtuitive Feeling(38%) Perceiving(44)%

- You have strong preference of Introversion over Extraversion (89%)
- You have moderate preference of Intuition over Sensing (50%)
- You have moderate preference of Feeling over Thinking (38%)
- You have moderate preference of Perceiving over Judging (44%)

... and I should have religious education Confused

Anyway, I recommend you the book "The Art of SpeedReading People: How to Size People Up and Speak Their Language", by Paul D. Tieger and Barbara Barron-Tieger.

Code:
This book is like a practical communications seminar based on the psychology model called Personality Typing, which is focused on identifying key personality traits in order to communicate most effectively. First, you analyze your own personality type and determine your placement on the scales of extrovert/introvert, sensor/intuitive, thinking/feeling, and judging/perceiving. The book then teaches you about the clues that indicate other people's personality type, including speaking style, body language, and occupation.
