Chimpanzee behavior (and how it relates to that of humans)

What I used a LOT in writing my Master's thesis (on beauty, obvs Rolleyes )! Have you read the one on ugliness? Found it even more fascinating... though it didn't really resolve my lifelong inability to understand why so many derive pleasure from watching the suffering and pain of others. Still haven't found an answer to that...

Nah, I'm that mysterious, rarely seen animal - the philologist [Image: 2012_smiley18.gif]

But I wrote my thesis on beauty, for some reason. It had to have sth. more to do with "my" area, so I chose Tolkien (literature). Was still religious back then, actually started deconverting right when I was writing my thesis... which might explain why there are claims that life without a higher purpose is meaningless (didn't put it quite like this, but this is where I was headed... am kinda ashamed, but in my defence was struggling exactly with this *while* I was writing it... [Image: ashame11.gif] Luckily, this definitely passed )

On Ugliness is good though, I recommend it, if you liked the first one!

Sure thing. What colour was impressed again? And I promise not to colour outside the lines Tongue

I have this book which I consult from time to time. It's got everything, and I do mean everything, humans have put on their bodies at one time and another.

It also gives the background of how the fashions changed from foreign invasions, political influences, scientific discoveries and industrial advances. I think that's why I love costuming so much. To learn about costumes means you learn about history. The two as intertwined as the threads that make the cloth.

Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors.... on Donald J. Trump:

He is deformed, crooked, old, and sere,
Ill-fac’d, worse bodied, shapeless every where;
Vicious, ungentle, foolish, blunt, unkind,
Stigmatical in making, worse in mind.
