I don't know, I've seen enough people whose tiny collection of brain cells seems lodged significantly lower than their heads...

See, you said, "The real question is where is my mind, actually..."

Then I said, "The idea that my brain is not in my head is so highly improbable it is easily dismissed." So I shifted the idea away from the disembodied mind to the obviously non-separable brain. If the mind is dependent on the brain, then the idea becomes absurd.

That's why it was funny.

*Sigh*

Well, duh! Have you *not* met me? Well, no, no you haven't and frankly, you should thank your ex movie lucky stars, but still...

The real question is where is my mind, actually...

Kinda? I do like them, even if nowadays I tend to listen to very different music (I think I tend to listen to them when I'm really angry... which is very rare for me (I'm more of the "quiet desperation" type Rolleyes )

I rather like Britpop (even if the name is kinda dumb), esp. Suede and Pulp (and Keane, if they count as Britpop). But never ever, EVER Oasis, plagiarising jerks Angry

And many friends I hope.
Though some may hold the rose some hold the rope.

And that's the end and that's the start of it.
That's the whole and that's the part of it.
That's the high and that's the heart of it.
That's the long and that's the short of it.
That's the best and that's the test in it.
That's the doubt, the doubt,
The trust in it.
That's the sight and that's the sound of it.
That's the gift and that's the trick in it."

(I think this album cover is quite beautiful Blush )

I'll also vehemently deny that I might actually like this one Blush

RE: If you never existed
There is no "mind" anymore than 55mph speeding in a car is s a physical thing. 55mph is mathematical description of the physical car in motion.

You are your brain in motion. "Mind" is an artificial construct used to describe someone's thought process and or personality. Much like the number "1" can describe "1 apple" or "1 frog" or "1 sled".

The late Christopher Hitchens said it right, " I don't have my body, I am my body".

I'd only add, "I am my brain in motion".

Just like if you blow up a car engine beyond repair or use, you wont able to speed.

"Mind", "I" and "personality" are artificial words used to describe an individual's brain in motion. Just like 55mph is a description of the car in motion.

Bolding mine. We both probably think it is beautiful, but for different (maybe not) reasons. I delight in viewing the female form, and her curves are really nice. Yes

Did you just assume my sexuality? Angry

Jesus, I almost made myself gag, going for what passes for a joke in right-wing circles Confused

Also, I'm with Kant (even if saying this, too, pains me. He's dead wrong about compassion) - the appreciation of beauty is disinterested (translation into non-pretentionese - I don't necessarily wanna do either of them. I just think both bodies are beautiful and the pose is lovely)

I loved this album cover when I first saw it

And of course, I've posted this before, but I know this statue from the cover of a Frescobaldi album and I think it's mind-bendingly beautiful (even if the theme is horrific. But it's mythology, so...)

Also, check out this collection of Vivaldi albums (some of the recordings are outstanding, btw, especially La Fida Ninfa)
