5th year med student with some experience in oncology, my 2 cents: while lung and spine metastases are definitely very bad news and mean that surgery is out of the question, some newer chemotherapy drugs can increase median survival to around 1.5-2 years if the tumor has mutations in specific genes (hideously expensive though, not sure if basic insurance covers them - a dose of bevacizumab costs ~1500 USD). Still 59 years is so very young, I'm sorry to hear that.

Oh, and you should find an online community dealing with those specific cancers. You can get some excellent information there, plus the support is really helpful. Don't forget your own needs!
