If he pulls this off, he'll eat like a king.

Actually, that's Chairman Mao. Māo (猫) (pronounced with a high level tone) is the Chinese word for cat. That's a funny picture.

Sweet shot for the kitty at work Kim!

My cat chased a deer out of the yard last year, was so funny. And that's probably one of the things that gets those kitties into trouble! No

I wonder if any domestic cats have ever "caught" a deer? This one looks fairly small... but I wonder if instinct would take over and they'd go for the throat?
Pretty crazy to imagine. Shy

I know a cat that takes out possums.. Possums that are twice it's size. It likes eating the brains! Every now and then it catches one takes it into the house when noone is looking.. Then you hear this bone grinding noise as it's trying to chew through the skull to get at it's brain!

*shudder*

This cat terrifies me.. It's huge and muscle-bound by cat standards.. weighs well over 10kg

That is spooky.
Whoa - are you sure that's not a zombie cat? I mean... kind of fits.

Does he leave clean bones? I love possum skeletons, especially the skull. I have a couple of them - the jaw is quite unique.

I like to have bones around - I like how they look. Unsure I have an art degree.

That's why Isaid usually. A shelter set up for adoption usually doesn't have the resources to spend trying to socialize them. If you have farms around you they can usually be set up as barn cats too.

I have worked with feral cats and colonies for years, and have successfully socialized several adults ferals; failed with some.

The methodology around here is the capture/neuter/release scheme. This will end a colony eventually. If there are kittens or 'promising' adults, we try to get them adopted. Of course, that's how my crazy cat lady friends end up with a dozen cats.Dodgy

But N.E., you talk as though God made cats to live indoors. They are animals, they are carnivores, they are predators. Around here, it is not kind to let cats go out as we have hawks, coyotes, fishers, foxes, raccoons, and so on.
I've had indoor cats and outdoor cats; the indoor ones live longer.
