RE: Introduce Yourself HERE!
Hello all! My name is Frank, however,
I also go by the following names: Tank, LabMonster, and of coarse my
favorite, Idiot. First off I have always been an atheist and I am
curious to see how people that have Awakened are socially. Anyways, I
finally decided to see what it would be like on a forum, that for
one, doesn't believe in nonsense (Hopefully) and two, wants to talk
about the issues. Mainly I am testing the waters to see what it is
like. So a little about myself, I am a freelance artist and work on
movies, commercials, Shows, Video Games, and Toys. I am a vet of the
U.S.M.C. (03 series, for those that know what it means.)

I have strong liberal views and I
follow truth and facts. For instance I know that a gun can not tell
me why it was used to kill someone and just because it was used is
not a reason for banning it. The prohibition of drugs is the real
problem and the cause of violence. I pay attention to the facts of
news stories and not the hype. One cops opinion does not make it
fact. Bath-salt story is nonsense. I would suggest that people that
seek truth and knowledge not buy into everything they here in the
news and if a story makes you upset it is probably a “Red Flag”
and you should probably do some fact checking. There is nothing wrong
with human sexuality or nudity. (Trust me the more you understand
about the human body and the more you see of it the less of a problem
it is.) I believe that human beings are all equal and that education,
(Not necessarily just schooling) is the most important tool to fight
ignorance. Ignorance I think is the most deadly thing to humanities
ability to survive on this planet or anywhere else for that matter.

is nothing wrong with obscenities, pornography, or fantasy violence,
(Small exception for real violence in context, meaning consented too.
Example: boxing). The news over exaggerates it all and they use
language tricks and imagery for shock value. The more afraid and
depressed people are the more superstitious and predictable they
become. (Corporations like predictable markets) Money doesn't mean
anything if you are always worried and afraid of everyone else. I
know that all this post 9/11 security crap is well, crap. TSA is
security theater for example. I care about peoples intent with their
words not the words themselves. I know that this world and its people
can be so much more than they are. Science and knowledge

Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.
Science is not a subject, but a method.

RE: Introduce Yourself HERE!
Hello. New member here, though not a new visitor. Just figured it was time to create an account.

I'm a thirtysomething Engish teacher and freelance writer type. Also an atheist, of course Smile. I was long ago active in the Secular Web / Internet Infidels community, but when that site had an epic fracturing three or so years ago I wandered away from the nontheist Internet community (not from nontheism though). Been looking for a good nontheist forum to settle into, and I think I've found it here.

I'm a 40 year old residing in Virginia. Follwing the reason rally in DC, I have been eager to chat with like minded folks. I have only arrived at atheism within the past several years and could not be happier. I look forward to reading what you all have to say. This community never stops amazing me.

RE: Introduce Yourself HERE!
Hello, I'm new to the site but find the content very interesting. I have been an Atheist my entire life, which is somewhat frustrating due to living in "Biblebelt America". I know very few atheist so I'm excited to meet people that share my beliefs.
